Training for Ethicists
There are many ethicists who wish to know about the various ethical categories and/or Professional Development. These courses are appropriate for them.
There are many people with an earned doctorate who are interested in pursuing a career as a professional ethicist through the Association of Certified General Ethicists (CGE). These courses are ideal for this purpose. The Ethics Institute is presently the only institution that the CGE Association has granted the right to train prospective CGE members.
General Training in Ethics
People who have an interest in some of the subjects particularly through Professional Development the Certificate programme offers should feel free to take these from the Ethics Institute.
Ethicist – Professional Designation
All TEAM members are Certified General Ethicists (CGE). The Association of Certified General Ethicists approves specific tertiary-level institutions whose doctorate programmes are approved.
Prospective CGE members who have not obtained a doctorate from one of the approved institutions will be required to fulfill the following certificate programme:

The Ethics Institute (TEI) is always looking for TEAM (i.e., Top Ethicists Advising Management) members.
Do you have what it takes? If so, send TEI information about yourself.
Do you have a doctorate? Then you have an opportunity to join the TEAM, contact TEI to see if there is anything more that you have to do. You will be encouraged to receive your CGE (i.e., Certified General Ethicist) professional designation to ensure your long term success.
Do you have experience in ethics, yet lack a doctorate? Then contact TEI, and an assessment of your education and experience will be evaluated. TEI will work with you in establishing a strategic plan that will allow you to work in the ethics field while earning your CGE (i.e., Certified General Ethicist) professional designation.

Communications – 15 credits
It is essential that ethicists have exceptional communication skills. This includes both verbal and written skills to ascertain the reasons for any unethical situation, to logically present the problem to be rectified and how to implement the solution.

Dialogue Skills – 15 credits
The ethicist requires the necessary dialogue skills, since the decisions are not decrees from above. As a professional it is necessary to frame reports, within reason, into appropriate terms of reference. Often this necessitates dialoguing either in an individual or corporate counselling situation.

Judging and Acting – 12 credits
A working knowledge of various ethical components is essential for the professional to be able to make correct determinations. Being unaware may cause serious repercussions. For instance, certain professions, such as the accounting industry, have standards based upon GAAP (i.e. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). Unless the ethicist is acquainted with these, a recommendation may prove to be superfluous.
